My Coaching Style

As a cognitive developmental psychologist with specialized training in education and human development, my approach to coaching is centered around:

  • Utilizing my extensive training in task analysis and problem-solving.  We work together to identify obstacles in your way and develop strategies to better navigate them.  Focusing on you and your goals, we come up with structured plans that set you up for success.

  • Adapting my coaching strategies around you.   I look at where you are at, your current capabilities, and what best could help you in the moment.

  • Support with emotional regulation and coping skills.  When we learn how to better pace ourselves emotionally, we are more likely to stick with our goals, follow through on our plans, and regroup to work around the inevitable snags that arise.

  • Training in social thinking and social skills.  Developing better social awareness gives us better strategies for understanding and engaging with others, whether it be in the context of work, school, recreation, or personal life.

  • Advocating for individuals and families to access school and/or community supports.  We learn what resources and accommodations might be available and how to get them working for you.

  • Fostering skill development and greater independence in both adolescents and adults.  As your coach, I will encourage and assist you as you work to take more control of your life.

  • A deep commitment to the well-being of my clientele and their families.
